Question: Do I have to fulfilled the deposit requirement with respect to my serial publication?

Answer: No. For copyright purposes each serial issue is considered a separate work. You must deposit two copies of each issue within 3 months after the date of publication.



Question: Do I need to obtain permission to an image from the Library of Congress?

Answer: With few exceptions, the Library of Congress does not own copyright in the materials in its collections and does not grant or deny permission to use the content mounted on its website.

 

Question: Which form should I use?

Answer: Generally, to register literary works and computer programs, use Form TX; for performing arts, use Form PA; for single issue serials/periodicals, use Form SE; for a group of issues of serials/periodicals, use Form SE/Group.
